People who follow likes on social networks have more friends in real life

VKontakte and the Higher School of Economics (HSE) conducted a study of people of generation Z. The authors saw that users following likes on social networks had more friends in real life.

The study was conducted among people between the ages of 14 and 24. 95% of them visit VKontakte every day. The authors of the work said that users who share stories and photos on social networks, on average, had more friends on the Internet and in life. Those people who prefer to publish texts have fewer friends on the Internet, but they have almost the same number of close friends.

But those users who follow the likes under their publications, on average, have more friends everywhere - both online and in life.

In addition, the researchers saw that people with a wide social network tend to be more open about expressing their thoughts on social media and writing about personal ones.
