After the first day of WWDC 2021, Apple, as promised , has activated new features for Apple Music users.
What is known
We are talking about Spatial Audio mode with Dolby Atmos support, which allows you to listen to music with surround sound in AirPods and Beats headphones with H1 and W1 chips. You can activate Spatial Audio in Apple Music settings.
The second innovation of the streaming service is support for Lossless Audio - lossless sound. To do this, Apple uses a proprietary ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) codec. Unfortunately, you won't be able to test the new mode on wireless headphones . To do this, you have to connect a wired headset or use HomePod and HomePod mini smart speakers. Music with Lossless Audio support is displayed in the application with a special badge.
