Users around the world are experiencing problems accessing many popular resources.
What happened
Initially, it was assumed that the cloud services Amazon Web Services stopped working, but the reason was different. The crash occurred on Fastly's Content Distribution Network (CDN). It is an intermediate link between the resource servers and the end user. The CDN accesses a copy of the data stored in the nearest data center, thereby reducing download times. But something went wrong. DownDetector reports that outages have been reported on Disqus, Twitch, Reddit, Veimo, CNN, IGN, The Verge, The New York Times , T he Guardian, and other websites.
