Adidas has created 3D-printed glasses weighing only 20 grams and costing $ 415

3D printing technology is a curious innovation that is already being applied in various industries, projects and business initiatives. Thanks to this innovation, it is possible to print not only small parts and objects, but also entire buildings. Adidas has also used 3D printing technology to develop a curious product.

This time, the company's designers did not focus on a new generation of athletic shoes, but instead created a pair of sunglasses. The name of the model in question is Adidas 3D CMPT, and the production with a 3D printer allows them to significantly reduce their weight.

According to official figures, the glasses weigh only 20 grams. Adidas has confirmed that it is partnering with Italian brand Marcolin Group to produce 3D CMPT.

The base of the glasses is a nylon frame that resembles a flexible grill grill. The use of the latest generation of 3D technology allows you to print the module, which is complemented by a rubberized coating and contact pads along the edges. The Adidas 3D CMPT uses an Adidas Base 7 polycarbonate lens that blocks UV rays.

This ensures clear images in all weather conditions and also reduces eye fatigue. The company plans to release a limited edition of 150 units to promote the Adidas 3D CMPT.

Members of the Adidas  Creator Club (I wonder if there are any among our readers?) Will be able to order glasses exclusively for the week starting 23 August. The Adidas 3D CMPT is priced at a modest $ 415.
