Facebook has disabled some Instagram and Messenger features for users in Europe

Instagram and Messenger users in Europe have started to complain that some functions are not working in the apps.

What's the matter

Facebook had to turn off some features  "due to new messaging rules in Europe." This is what the company said in a statement. What this means is not clear. Presumably, we are talking about a violation of the law of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union "on confidentiality and electronic means of communication."

Unfortunately, Facebook does not say which features have been disabled, but according to  The Verge, they removed personalized responses and user aliases. Also, some have lost stickers and AR effects on Instagram. The company promises to return everything in the near future.
